Another Let Down

Tell me like it is.. vocals flat or not? =/

We'll seeeeee.

Lyrics:

And if we take the long road
Back the way we came
I will just guide your hands
As we just make our way

And I will lead you past
Where we had got before
And I won't see you cause
Of the fog in your heart

Go back where you came
It don't matter any way
I don't see what I saw before
You have changed and so have I
Go back where you came
It don't matter any way
If I think back
This was not what I had ever thought of

And as I think right back
Right back right to the start
This was
Never how I'd imagined it to be
I thought we would be together forever
But then you turned it around

Go back where you came
It don't matter any way
I don't see what I saw before
You have changed and so have I
Go back where you came
It don't matter any way
If I think back
This was not what I had ever thought of

And you won't find me
And you won't find me
Missing you
And this is the most
I've thought about it
I won't change for you

Back to me?

Hi Guys

It's been a while.

This is the rock song I've been working on so far.

Some people in America are recording it for me for $125.

This is what we've got so far.

I think:
I think I'd prefer the lead guitar to be a little higher in mix.. In the intro when the rhythm guitars come in I think maybe they could be a bit quieter? It might just be because I'm used to hearing it without a lead guitar. What do you think?

Also in the chorus as well. I'd love to hear the lead guitar standing out just a bit more. Don't know what you think.

And the vocals are a bit high in the mix do you think?

Also I'd like to add some backing vocals.. if anyone has any ideas please feel free to download the song and add something over the top. Or if you don't want to do that just say what you think here.

Thanks guys.

LYRICS:

Everyday after school
I think of all things
I should have said to you
I should have told you

Third times the charm
But I'm not sticking around
Too hear your lies again
I should have said

You said you're sorry
Too many times before
Now I can't believe
Your stories any more

You said you're sorry
Too many times before
Now I can't believe
Your stories any more

I wish I knew
Why I started to
Fall in love with you

What made me
Want to be with
The one that I would
Grow to hate

You said you're sorry
Too many times before
Now I can't believe
Your stories any more

You said you're sorry
Too many times before
Now I can't believe
Your stories any more

And after all of this
All of this
You still come crawling back to me

And then when you're done
When you're done
It all comes rushing back to me

You said you're sorry
Too many times before
Now I can't believe
Your stories any more

You said you're sorry
Too many times before
Now I can't believe
Your stories any more

Can I sing? lol

*** READ FIRST***

lol ok so I've been working on singing after recieving super bad reviews about it from another site (def not this one), and I'll now copy and paste a few of them :) :

(All about "The Boy on The Front Page")

Review in quotes, followed by the score they gave me.

"Vocally- I think you need a lot of work! You need to firstly pace yourself! You need to not force it out. When you are going on that "You'll wish that...." its being forced out and I know all your trying to do is devulge some emotion! You can do that without sounding bad. You also would go too low and be lost behind the music and often have many pitch problems and fall flat! Lots of work to get there but you have the potential because you wrote a beautiful song and the music itself is beautiful!" (9/10)

"More needs to be in the song to bring it to life, its empty, your not singing with all your might, more needs to be in the track to make you sound professional, this isn't professional, people want to hear good quality music, not music they cant listen to." (4/10)

"Oh Dear !!! - Did your mum tell you you could sing? Get some lessons stop making my ears bleed" (1/10)

"The vocals on this track really don't work. The music isn't too bad but the lyrics and singers voice aren't of a quality that could be sold to anyone. I think that if this individual got singing lessons then he may be more successful." (1/10)

"I think that this is ok" (6/10)

"This track has an excellently arranged soundtrack, but the vocals are highly unappealing. The volume level goes up and down in the vocal tone, and this doesn't help much. I don't see this going very far..." (4/10)

"this track could use alot of work on the vocals on this track. the lyrics are good though and the instrumentals have great dyanmics keep it up." (6/10)

"this was a pretty original song, quite creative and also the performed by the group. i liked the piano in this, although the vocals werent as good as the rest of the tune." (7/10)

Overall, after all of those comments, I decided to let my singing out a bit more, and I decided to stand up when I'm singing! I can't believe all of my previous songs I did sitting down..

Hmm.

Anyway, all comments and criticism welcome :).

City In Turmoil

Well here it is.

This song is nearly 3 years in the making.

2 years to write, 1 year to actually get the CD with the song on!

I wrote the song during my GCSE Music Course (September 2005 - June 2006).

I didn't actually get the CD with it on until yesterday (25th May 2007).

Anyway I told a few people about this roughly a year ago in the Bandamp Chat.

Puppet I'm sure you were one of the ones I told :).

I really loved writing this song, and after waiting this long to listen to it again (yesterday was the first time I'd heard it myself in nearly a year), I really love listening to it.

There are a few problems though.

Quality - It's not perfect, but it's listenable.
PAGE TURNS! - GAH! Try to ignore them =].

What I would really love would be if someone can help me make a remake of this piece with really good (or at least better) quality. I can play the clarinet part, I need someone to actually notate and play the piano part. I don't have the sheet music for this :(. Anybody good at notating? Haha!

I would really love this because I would love to enter it into the UK SONGWRITING CONTEST!

Thanks for reading guys and gals, I hope you enjoy this piece of music!

Cheers!

Took about 2 days to make, and I quite like it :)

Also can someone please give this song a genre, I was thinking a form of Popular Song?

Thanks.

VERSE1
I try to see you
I just can't be there all the time
I try to meet you
But I don't want to let you down

BRIDGE
You played me
You take me
I never realised
How much you hated me
But Now
I'm Gone

CHORUS
But was it my fault that we had never made it?
You crushed my hopes and dreams in a single sentance

VERSE 2
I thought I knew you
I thought I had it all planned out
I thought I loved you
I never really had a doubt

BRIDGE
You played me
You take me
I never realised
How much you hated me
But Now
I'm Gone

CHORUS
But was it my fault that we had never made it?
Crush your hopes and dreams in a single sentance

OUTRO
I'd like to see you once again
I think that I could make things work
But I have moved on since then
Let's talk about it
Let's talk about it

Superheroes Don't Exist Demo

Hope you guys like this. I hope I'm getting better at songwriting.

Please don't judge on production e.g. the use of instruments that aren't real and the fact that I recorded my vocals just now at 2.30 in the morning while I have a cold :). I just wanted to get a demo version up before I go on holiday on sunday and we're out tomorrow. I'll have a bit of time to work on this while I'm away so all comments between now and saturday evening are especially welcomed!

Thanks for listening!

Hmmm.

Wasn't sure if I liked this at first, but now that I've listened to it a few times I actually really like it!

I enjoyed making this one a lot so please comment it and tell me what you think!

If you don't like it very much, come back a bit later and listen to it again. If you still don't like it do the same again. If you still don't like if after that, then you're probably not ever going to like it very much. But it's one of those songs that gets better the more you listen to it.

Well it was for me anyway :)

Thanks to Jimk for trying the drums but I couldn't get them to fit in the song so I made some using fruityloops :)

I changed the instrumentation to guitars, bass, drums and vocals.

So yeah tell me what you think :)

Lyrics:

Everytime when you looked at me
You'd always tell me what I can't do
But one day I will show you what
What I can do what I've become

And you'll wish that you had stayed with me
And you'll wish that we were meant to be
When the whole world sees just what I've done
You'll wish that you had stayed
With the boy on the front page

And you'll wish that you had stayed with me (boy on the front page)
And you'll wish that we were meant to be (boy on the front page)
When the whole world sees just what I've done (boy on the front page)
You'll wish that you had stayed
